Our Adoption Pictures

Last weekend Kevin and I went to Dayton, TN to spend time with our good friends, Justin and Hannah Kelly. Hannah is very gifted at photography and we were able to take some pictures to document this exciting time in our lives! We wanted to have pictures for our child that will show them the love and complete excitement we have awaiting their arrival. Have you ever seen pregnancy pictures? If you have, then these adoption pictures are sort of the equivalent! My husband is so sweet and supportive and was willing to spend his Saturday wearing matching colors with his wife and smiling for about 100 pictures. It also helped that we were amongst friends so he was able to laugh and goof around with Justin while Hannah and I chatted and giggled about our pictures and my future brown skinned baby. I hope that these pictures are an encouragement and a joy for you to see. I know that my heart leaps for joy imagining where we will be on our adoption journey one year from now. Hopefully we will already have our child and we fill that open chair with a smiling Baby Weldon!

Waiting on a Weldon!

Growing in my heart, not my tummy!
Jesus unites orphans with families forever by grace!
One day this chair will be filled with a smiling Baby Weldon!
Adoption is a beautiful picture of the Gospel.

  2. As a women of God who lovingly placed her child for a adoption at the age of 17, I would like to say to continue to have hope. I know that the entire process of adoption can be absolutely exhausting but when the time comes, it will have all been worth it. May god continue to bless you and your Husband as you wait for your child to come home. "Be still, and know that I am God" -Psalms 41:10. My prayers are with you!

  4. I absolutely LOVE these pictures! I just started my own blog, trying to get through this adoption process. We are at the very beginning and it is already tough! I was wondering if I could like back to some of these pictures for my next post? They are gorgeous :) It is http://everygoodandperfectthing.blogspot.com/
I would also like to continue following your story, and would love any pointers you have on the journey! Thank you so much for opening up your hearts and your family to include all of us on your journey!

  6. These are such beautiful pictures. I found you through a pin on Pinterest, and just had to let you know that these pictures brought tears to my eyes. Your faith and your love is so evident, and I pray that that precious little chair is filled with a joyful little Baby Weldon very soon!

I have many friends who are in the "waiting" stage of the adoption journey as well, but I've never seen anyone do pictures like these. They are so sweet, and you (and your child) will be so thankful that you took them!

    Blessings to you and Kevin!

    Joining you in prayer,
    Bethany

    1. Thank you so much! When we started our adoption journey I wanted to replace the "pregnant belly" pictures to document our exciting and unique time! I am so glad that we did these photos! It's been awesome to know that other adoptive mamas out there are wanting to do the same thing! :) Bless you guys!

  10. These are precious pictures. We have adopted 2 girls at 2 days old. They are now 19 & 14. Wait on the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart in His timing. It is so hard to wait but I know that I would not have been as good of a mom if God had given us a baby when I thought He should have! Adversity & perseverance refine us to be more like God. I will be praying for you as you wait on Him & your little one in the future.
